چکیده
High growth rates and rapid reproductive development associated decline in feed quality of sown tropical perennial grass pastures present management challenges for livestock producers. Conservation surplus forage as silage could be an effective tool. Experiments were conducted to evaluate the fermentation silages produced from grasses. Five species (Chloris gayana, Megathyrsus maximus, Panicum coloratum, Digitaria eriantha Cenchrus clandestinus) ensiled without additives after a short, wilt at dry matter (DM) contents ranging 302.4 650.1 g kg−1. The profile all 2019 was typical high DM silages, but 2020 ammonia (% total nitrogen: NH3-N), acetic acid pH levels higher. In M. maximus (302.4 kg−1 DM) poorly preserved with 20.2% NH3-N. content other exceeded 350 generally good. second experiment, 365 chopped 447 unchopped, either or Pioneer 1171® (Lactobacillus plantarum Enterococcus faecium) Lallemand Magniva Classic® (L. Pediococcus pentasaceus) bacterial inoculant. Inoculants increased lactic production, reduced improved compared Control, D-lactate, L-lactate production differed between inoculants. Unchopped had higher NH3-N better protein fraction than same content. both experiments, wilting water soluble carbohydrates by 0.5–31.5 ensiling degradation fraction. We concluded that combined additive resulted well silages.

Fermentation Characteristics and Microbial Diversity of Tropical Grass-legumes Silages
Calliandra calothyrsus preserved in silage is an alternative method for improving the crude protein content of feeds for sustainable ruminant production. The aim of this research was to evaluate the quality of silage which contained different levels of C. calothyrsus by examining the fermentation characteristics and microbial diversity. Silage was made in a completely randomized design consisti...
متن کاملEffect of a bacterial inoculant on rate of fermentation and chemical composition of high dry matter grass silages
Four experiments were carried out in Lelystad, The Netherlands in 1994, in which perennial ryegrass wilted to 421–568 g dry matter (DM) kg−" was ensiled with and without an inoculant containing Lactobacillus plantarum and Enterococcus faecium strains in 1-litre capacity laboratory silos. Treated silages showed a markedly increased rate of pH decline. The final pH of treated silages was reached ...
متن کاملEffect of lactic acid bacteria inoculants, formic acid, potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate on fermentation quality and aerobic stability of wilted grass silage
The efficiency of a novel strain of lactic acid bacteria inoculant (Lactobacillus plantarum VTT E-78076, E76) on the fermentation quality of wilted silage was studied. Furthermore, the possibility to improve aerobic stability of silages by combining an inoculant and chemical preservatives was investigated. Two experiments were conducted with wilted timothy-meadow fescue herbage (dry matter 429 ...
متن کاملImprovement of Fermentation Quality of Rice Straw Silage by Application of a Bacterial Inoculant and Glucose
The improvement of the fermentation quality of rice straw silage by application of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and glucose was investigated in this study. Sixteen rice varieties were harvested at the maturity stage and the rice straw was ensiled with LAB inoculant (1×10 cfu/g of fresh weight) and glucose (2% of fresh weight). Inoculation with LAB improved the fermentation as reflected in reducti...
